As many of you may have noticed, our official Instagram presence recently vanished. The “MKABelgium” page was deleted by the platform, and after several weeks of silence, we want to share exactly what happened and how we are moving forward.

What Happened?

During our MKAB Refresher Course a few weeks ago, we discovered that our official Instagram account had been disabled without prior notice. We immediately filed several appeals, but unfortunately, they were all rejected.

To be completely transparent with our members: we still do not know why this happened. Despite our best efforts to recover the account, the platform’s decision was final. While losing years of content and our community of followers is a setback, it has provided us with a vital lesson in digital sovereignty.

A lesson in strategy

For a long time, we relied heavily on Instagram as our primary source of communication—from podcast announcements to National Ijtema coverage. This incident was a “wake-up call.”

Relying on a third-party platform as a primary hub means we are subject to their algorithms and sudden policy changes. They own the data, and as we’ve seen, they can revoke access at any moment. Moving forward, we are changing our strategy to ensure this never happens again.

Khuddam.be: Our Digital Home

From now on, khuddam.be will be the definitive source of all information.

  • Safety & Longevity: We own our website. We can safeguard our content and maintain offline backups.

  • Freedom of Expression: We have the space to share updates, news, and media without the limitations or censorship of social media.

  • Primary Hub: All news regarding events, activities, and updates will be published here first.

Social Media: Distribution, Not Destination

We aren’t leaving social media, but we are changing how we use it. Platforms like Instagram, X, and WhatsApp will now serve as distribution channels rather than primary archives. We will no longer focus on building platform-specific “bubbles”; instead, every post will lead you back to our website for the full story.

Moving Forward: Our New Instagram

While the loss of our original account was disappointing, we move forward with a fresh start. We have launched a new Instagram handle: @khuddambe.

Why the name change? To align with our Khuddam brothers in Germany (@khuddamde) and create a more unified European identity. This account will serve as a gateway to our website content.

Seeking Allah’s Guidance

As Ahmadi Muslims, we believe that everything happens by the Will of Allah. We view this challenge as a divine nudge to build a more robust, independent, and professional communication network. This shift is not just a technical change, but a step forward taken with His guidance.

May Allah bless our efforts, protect our beloved Khalifa, and grant us the strength to fulfill the mission of the Promised Messiah (as).
